STEM:Series

To connect STEM and the arts my concentration starts in medical illustration. Here I can give the viewer much more information on the intimate contents of the human body and even allow them to examine minute details without the abstraction of a microscope lens. With my research in the Anatomy Lab I was given the ability to see a brain up close. The information I gathered from there has been instrumental to this show. The colors I’ve chosen are not just a personal choice either. The pinks and blues you see dominating this work are drawn from the colorfully dyed samples I saw peering through the microscope at Purdue’s lab. I am also taking the information and techniques I have learned to experiment with creating new organs and other unique sculptures.
